Vibrant Body, Peaceful Mind and Joyful Heart
These words are what I aspire to and best describe for me how I feel when I am in my most optimum and balanced state. They point to all aspects of what I sense as my Whole Self, from the visible to the invisible of all that I AM. Since all of these “parts” are what I am experiencing now, from the physical to the non physical, they all need to be noticed, nurtured and understood. This is what creates for me Whole Hearted Health.
Although we have many challenges that accompany modern living, we also have growing understanding of how all of these aspects of ourselves interrelate and are affected by our choices of what we eat, how we utilize our body, what we think, how we perceive events, the circumstances we find ourselves in and even how we contribute to creating them. In short, we have so much ability to create and experience more well being on all levels. What we have also come to discover is how much influence the invisible (our beliefs, thoughts and feelings) affect our physical self and so this is such a fruitful starting point to create more health and well being. But then the wise ones through the ages already knew this….. All of this is what excites me so and fuels my passion and drives my purpose to apply what I learn and share it with you. Then we can all function more optimally, allowing each of us to contribute to making the world a better place.

The Wheel of Wellness
Since the wheel is an organic shape that can rotate naturally to reveal different views of itself, it can easily illustrate the concept of Whole Hearted Health. We can see how all the “parts” connect at the center, and touch each other. Foundational concepts, such as Self acceptance/appreciation, Self awareness/observation, and Self care are influenced by our beliefs, environment and learned behaviors, which in turn affect our body, mind (thoughts and emotions) and our heart (the core or spirit within us). An age old concept of “as above, so below” plays out to show us that what is being created in the invisible realm shows up in the visible realm. Like the ice-burg, what is happening under the surface is much bigger than what is above. However, we have an abundance of tools in our tool belt these days to shift the dynamics in our favor and create a more vibrant body, peaceful mind and joyful heart.

Classes and Programs
By shining the light of our awareness onto ourselves, and making use of the knowledge we have available (both current and age-old) we can shift our beliefs and behaviors to create more optimal well being. It is a wonderful benefit when we come together as a group, because we learn from each other through this process. Not to mention, have so much fun doing it. (Is this where we apply “misery loves company”?)
One of the ways to make this shift is a group program held at Flowering Heart Yoga. The Vibrant Body, Peaceful Mind, Joyful Heart program is one day a month(usually a Saturday) for 6 months, giving you time to grow and blossom into a new way of being in the world. Additionally, other programs are offered throughout the year, addressing more specific topics, such as better sleep (Sweet Dreams), seasonal depression (Don’t be SAD), women’s health issues (Yoga for Women of All Ages), as well as classes to fine tune your diet and lifestyle, applying systems like ayurveda, body ecology, whole and living foods, and juicing (Creating Optimal Health series), and a growing number of classes that become available over time.

Individual Sessions and Coaching
For those who prefer a more specifically focused approach, individual sessions can be a valuable option. Through cooperative interaction and partnership, I provide a safe and sacred space for listening to the communications of the client (both in what is said and what is not said), allowing them to discover their values and character strengths, uncovering what is in the way of them making changes, and guiding them to choose the incremental steps that take them in the direction they envision. With the added element of coaching, individuals can make steady progress toward their desired goals and create the life of their dreams.
